Day 68: Vienna, Austria

Day 68: September 28th

Vienna is full of surprises. It was our last full day here and we only had a few things on our agenda. But throughout the day there were some lovely moments…like, on our way to see the Imperial Treasure at the Hofburg Palace, we came across a marching band(with no one below the age of at least 45/50 years) performing right outside the entrance…. Two young kids were giving out free hugs in the Museums Quartier… A protest against killing of stray dogs in Romania on the street where our hotel was! There is so much going on in this city. It just always felt full of life.

We came across another protest on our first day here where all of a sudden right in Stephansplatz, people just suddenly started coughing and then playing dead. Initially we thought it was a flash mob but it was definitely a protest as they lay there for a long time while a guy on a microphone spoke for at least ten minutes …we tried to find out what they were protesting but weren’t able to.

We have had a splendid time here and I know we will be back some day again…

Tomorrow, we are off on our next adventure to the tiny town of Cesky Krumlov in the Czech Republic.
